Privacy policy

Information we handle

• Account information: your email address and authentication information when you create or use an account. Supabase provides account authentication; Findwise does not receive your plain-text password.
• Saved activity: product IDs you save, comparison selections and their dates, and subscription status associated with your account. If you use saved finds without signing in, this information may be kept in your browser’s local storage. The budget planner stores the budget, shopping list, planned purchases, meals, prices and retailer links you enter in this browser; this personal plan is not synced to your account. If you join a shared household list, its item names, quantity notes and completion status are stored in Supabase and visible to that household’s members.
• Subscription information: Stripe processes checkout and recurring payments. Findwise receives subscription and customer identifiers and status needed to provide Plus and manage billing. Stripe handles payment card details through its hosted checkout; Findwise does not store the full card number or security code.
• Feedback: if you submit a rating or message in your account, Findwise stores the rating, selected topic, message, account identifier, and submission time so the service owner can review and improve the service. Other customer accounts cannot read feedback submissions. Email notifications about feedback are not enabled yet.
• Technical information: our hosting and service providers may process network and diagnostic information needed to deliver, protect, and troubleshoot the site.
• Language preference: your browser’s preferred language is checked on your device to decide whether to offer French. Your choice is saved in local storage so we do not ask again on each visit.

How we use information

We use this information to create and secure accounts, save and restore your finds and comparison history, provide and manage subscriptions and shared household lists, review customer feedback, respond to support requests, and maintain the website. Account confirmation and password-reset messages may be sent to operate account security; these are not marketing messages. We do not currently send marketing email through the website. If that changes, we will request any consent required and provide an unsubscribe method.

Service providers and transfers

We use Supabase for authentication and database services, Stripe for payment and subscription services, and Cloudflare for website hosting and delivery. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. Some providers or their infrastructure may process information outside Quebec. Before launch, FindWise must confirm the applicable provider locations and describe any transfers outside Quebec accurately.

Retention and your choices

We keep account and saved activity while needed to provide the service. Feedback is kept for service review and improvement until it is no longer needed or the associated account is deleted, subject to lawful retention needs. Billing and transaction records may be retained for accounting, dispute handling, security, or legal requirements. You can remove saved products and comparisons in the account where those controls are available. To ask us to access, correct, or delete account information, contact [SUPPORT EMAIL]. We may need to retain limited records where the law permits or requires it.

Security and children

We use service providers and safeguards intended to protect information, but no online service can promise absolute security. Findwise is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly invite them to create accounts.
